DUNKIRK, France – Eleven bicycles belonging to Cofidis, stolen in a single day earlier than the second stage of the Tour de France, have been recovered, the crew’s normal supervisor Cedric Vasseur stated on Monday following the third stage of the race.

“I had Christian Prudhomme (the Tour’s director) on the telephone in the course of the stage. He was with the prefect to inform us that the bikes had been discovered within the afternoon”, Vasseur instructed France TV after the conclusion of the third stage.

The crew had earlier reported that 5 of the 11 bikes had been recovered.

“A number of the employees combed the world and managed to get their fingers on 5 bicycles, which had been thrown away by the criminals in undergrowth close to the lodge”, the crew stated in a press launch. REUTERS
