Govt hikes petrol worth by Rs4.80, diesel by Rs7.95

The Finance Division on Sunday evening notified hefty will increase within the costs of each petrol and diesel, with the charges climbing by Rs4.80 and Rs7.95 per litre, respectively.

Based on a notification seen by Daybreak.com, the finance division said that the brand new costs had been decided “primarily based on the suggestions of Ogra (Oil and Gasoline Regulatory Authority) and the related ministries”.

From June 16, high-speed diesel (HSD), which beforehand price Rs254.64 per litre, will now be offered for Rs262.59.

Equally, petrol, which price Rs253.63 per litre, will now be out there for Rs258.43.

Earlier estimates recommended that petrol and diesel costs would enhance by ab­­­­out Re1 and Rs5 per lit­re, respectively, for the following fortnight, owing to greater worldwide market costs.
