Round 100,000 folks marched in Budapest’s thirtieth Delight parade on Saturday, defying a authorities ban and police orders in what organizers known as Hungary’s largest LGBTQ+ occasion.

Regardless of threats of fines and police surveillance, members gathered to protest Prime Minister Orbán’s crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights.

Police diverted the march from its deliberate route to maintain it away from a small group of far-right counter-protesters.

The parade, deemed unlawful by a March regulation, was supported by the town’s mayor as a municipal occasion.

Many noticed the march as a stand for democracy and an indication of rising opposition to Orbán’s insurance policies.
