CAPE TOWN – South Africa lock Jean Kleyn has left the Springboks squad getting ready for Saturday’s check with Italy in Pretoria following an unspecified harm picked up within the 54-7 win over the Barbarians, officers have confirmed.
The 31-year-old will return to his Irish membership Munster to endure rehabilitation, suggesting the harm is a critical one.
“We really feel for Jean, however accidents are a part of the sport, and we’re lucky to have good depth at lock inside the squad so there isn’t a want for us to exchange him at this stage,” Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus mentioned.
