SINGAPORE: The Competitors and Shopper Fee of Singapore (CCCS) will broaden its shopper safety mandate by taking over a brand new position as product security regulator on Tuesday (Jul 1).
The position is presently held by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG) beneath its Shopper Product Security Workplace (CPSO) and the Weights and Measures Workplace (WMO).
With the position switch, the patron product security and authorized metrology capabilities beneath EnterpriseSG might be transferred to CCCS, the patron watchdog stated in a press launch on Monday.
The CPSO and the WMO will report back to CCCS after the switch, thus “strengthening the company’s regulatory oversight over shopper safety issues”.
